Thunja means ‘tree of life’ in Latin, or ‘fragrant wood’ in ancient Greek. This plant has always been a source of inspiration for artists, particularly in Japanese painting and graphics.
Japanese artists and calligraphers mastered the technique of painting with a handful of strokes of Indian ink, which is incredible for its lightness and composition.
